HALL OF SHAME

Bangalore known to be a garden city only till 2000. Now it is garbage city, you see garbage everywhere, one example which I can use was in SBI Loan mela, all the glittering cars, real estate deals and classy people around in one place in the morning and then in the afternoon same classy people on the other side (Lunch time) where you see them washing there hands wherever they find place and tissue paper littered all over the place.

Nobody seems to care when it comes to cleanliness outside of their home. Some of them cared, others I put these people in Hall of Shame.

I started writing about THE HALL OF SHAME after I heard this ad on Radio Indigo FM 91.1 about HALL OF SHAME lesson from a Grandpa to his son, best way to educate people about cleanliness and being a good citizen .

“I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.”
― Mahatma Gandhi ( GOOD READS )

Can anyone tell me other ways to put an awareness or how this Garbage city could get its name back to Garden City. .

Mantis

I was sitting in a park near DRDO shopping complex and was working, I got to see this magnificent creature crawling next to me, he looked amazing so i had to take this pic.
I remember this insect from those kungfu movies where they use the mantis technique to fight. This is the first time I looked close to this amazing creature.

Dust every where in bangalore

Bangalore known to be a garden city, is no more . You will find dust than the trees and garden in bangalore.

When I was little, I would see trees every where, it was fun to play under the trees and with other nature's creation.

There are many ways to get that kind of environment now, by doing it volunteering or joining a NGO, but as know government has other plans, they have different corporation and so they first dig the road to add water pipe no never even to bother to get the road done as it has to be done by another corporation.

Funny how the government works.

Going Green but Getting Nowhere

I have been going through a lot of articles after a long time to catch up with global warming issues and I went through one interesting article from NYtimes and it makes a lot of sense.

GOING GREEN BUT GOING NOWHERE click on that .

Well doing it alone does not seem to have any affect, the issues with pollution cannot be fixed individually, it will surely involve a lot of participation.

Seems like just educating people about the pollution is not helpful, it has to be implemented , there has to a group effort not just as a community, city, state or a country , the whole world has to come together to get this in place , but I know and everyone knows that this is not going to happen.

Well I'm just angry after going through that article , because going green is taking us nowhere.

WAYS TO REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT

5. HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

This is interesting , it will let you know how much you are polluting the environment and how you can reduce it. I calculated my carbon footprint and it 0.03 ton per year i.e I burn around 10 kilos of wood per month. So I have planned to plant a tree every six months which will grow and cover up all the carbon I have burnt.

Calculate the carbon footprint here. Click on carbon footprint and then calculate your carbon footprint and make some use of it and comment on it and may be give me some advice of how to reduce carbon footprint.

WAYS TO REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOT PRINT

Well I tried to replace some of the bulbs myself at home, but parents think of saving the money by getting these mercury bulbs but they are not aware that using the CFL would cost less in maintenance as it saves 15% of electricity bills and is more efficient .

2. Plant a tree this is one of the best things you can do. Trees breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. They also shade your house in the summer, and will lower your air conditioning.

Well this is something which cannot be done so easily, you know why but this is the best thing to do.

3. Switch off lights in rooms at home when leaving the room and switch of those lights at office if you find it is not necessary.
